Challenges

OK SO apparently jumping into a raw diet when you ate crap before is a BAD idea... tooooo many toxins get released....which TOTALLY exhausts you and doesn't allow your brain to think clearly......

My friend Brandt says that cooked veggies are the prescription to slow down the detoxing....

Rawsome Shari says to honor your process, and make soup that has potatoes, carrots, celery, onions... get some potassium and just go with the flow. Your are correct flooding the body with toxins make one want to sleep, which most of do not do. tune in, slow down and love it! OK so veggie soup for lunch it was :)

Kinda sad my body would'nt allow me to do this, but I will take it slower and try again! BUT that does not mean I am giving up..... just slowing down. I am still a vegetarian... I watched Food INC and don't think I can ever go back to any meat, or even seafood again....

So for now I am a minimum of 50% raw and will work up to 100% again.... at least for a cleanse.... I admit I LOVE hot cooked soup... I don't know that I want to go my whole life without it.

On a positive note, I'm down 7 pounds the day after Christmas!

SOOO Tired

Yesterday I was too exhausted to blog and today is not much better.... Im so tired. I dont feel sick, I feel like I just have no energy and maybe missing something in my diet...If anyone has ideas....PLEASE let me know! I would really appreciate it...

The begining of week 2!

I lost 6.5 pounds this week :)

Feeling a little tired so this will be quick.... I got a facial today which was wonderful and took a nap! I love lazy Saturdays :)

The end of Week 1

Thank you LARA BARS!!! I almost forgot about them. Raw, organic fruit & nut bars and sooooo yummy!

OMG, I have been craving fat & protein- specifically cheese and today at the end of the day at work I felt like I couldn't focus.... I don't think I am eating enough... I want some goat cheese.... I think my brain needs some fat & protein! lol

Day 6 of 100...

What a GREAT night!

I saw an advanced showing of "Its Complicated" Tonight with my friend Julia..... it was SOOOOOO funny! I Loved it, the funniest movie I have seen in a long time.... and I even snuck in my banana and kombucha in my purse..... AND I didn't even crave popcorn!

OK, So I was planning to start the MLIS cleanse today, but there is that planning thing again.... I did make some of the lemonade mix tonight after the movie to add to my raw diet and let me just say I'm LOVING IT!!!! So I have plenty for tomorrow... I dont know if I am ready to give up the raw foods and just go to juice though... hey its my plan..I can change it RIGHT? lol.... SO for now I am going to eat some raw foods and drink the mlis..

Day 5 of 100...... the precleanse :)

What is the saying fail to plan, and you will plan to fail? Well, I am SO human because I failed to plan today and now I'm STARVING! I'm eating my salad as I type...

I made my yummy citrus juice this morning and packed a banana and kombucha for a snack, and planned to go to whole foods for an organic salad at lunch but work was super busy and I didnt make time to go! So I ate an apple, and some more of the green drink I had at work.... but I wanted something more, like a LARGE beautiful salad, and I'm just now getting it because I had a class after work....

I have to say I am re-thinking this juice feast at the moment???? I definitely still want to do the 100 days, but just may do them raw with some juice and smoothies....

On the upside I had a TON of energy today and felt AMAZING ......other than the hunger that is :)

OK, on to day 6 tomorrow!

I just got home and I am freezing and TIRED! So I'm blogging early..

Day 3 of 100...... the precleanse :)


Today was a great day!!!! This is pretty easy :) I mean no cooking, not much cleanup, did I say easy??? and I feel wonderful... RAWSOME Shari sent the raw food group an email about Rachels green drinks.... and I couldnt resist.

SO tonight Bella and I drove over to buy a gallon.... pretty dang good... I must say I was mucho surprised! I fully planned on having to add some fruit to it, but no need... Day 2 of 100...the pre-cleanse



I woke up at 9am and didnt have a need for a nap today.... Today was nice, I read and just relaxed..

Breakfast- 2 cups of fresh, organic lemon, orange & grapefruit juice that I squeezed myself, with my handy juicer.
Snack- banana & herb tea

Lunch- Another beautiful salad & kombucha- my fav!

Dinner- Green smoothie with spinach, arugula, banana, apple & lemon

Time to eat some red grapes, take a hot bath and go to sleep early.

On to day 3 :)

Day 1 of 100...... the precleanse :)

Today was easier than I thought! I slept in which was wonderful... Then Bella and I went for a walk. Breakfast was a green smoothie...not too bad.

After my nap, yes it was wonderful too! I went to whole foods to load up on fruits & veggies... I made a beautiful totally raw, organic salad and had kombucha with it for lunch.

Dinner was an apple and raw almond butter with some herbal tea... surprisingly I'm not hungry... I think it was the green smoothie! I don't know if I ate enough today, but for the first time I'm letting my body tell me when it wants to eat so I'm just going to go with it.... I mean I have plenty of fuel to burn along with the food...

The Eve of my cleanse

I have strugled with my weight since the age of 8... yes there have been some good years and some AWFUL ones... and I have tried almost every single diet out there (weight watchers, slim fast, atkins, south beach, md-diet, the grapefruit diet, and on and on) and yet I struggle.

I have been a Pescetarian since July thanks to some of my students sharing their knowledge with me on the horrible conditions animals are placed in and the hormones, etc. that are allowed to be injected into them, thus into us. GROSS! Thank you Jaci, Michelle, Angel & Chelsea :) and Vegetarian since Sunday.. lol! Gotta start somewhere right?

I also joined an AMAZING raw food group a few months ago and have so enjoyed their emails, knowledge and help whenever I had a question. Thank you Shari for your wonderful raw classes, passion and knowledge!!!! You are truely RAWSOME!!!! So the past week I have been planning to do some kind of cleanse/detox and thanks to my new friend Brandt telling me about juice feasting. http://www.juicefeasting.com/ I am on a new path! I knew it was just what I needed from the moment I visited the site..... Brandt, Thank you for all your help, knowledge and constant email companionship!

JUICE FEASTING! PERFECT for what I need to heal, cleanse & detox my body....So here is my plan!

The 1st 5 days before I embark on my 92 day juice feast I am going to eat nearly 100% raw. juicing/smoothies, fruits, veggies & kombucha (my love!), with green tea being my only non raw intake so I don't die from caffeine withdrawls before I start the feasting :)

Days 6-8 will be the M'LIS cleanse... also called the Master Cleanser.

Then bring on the 92 juice feasting!

I have never attempted anything of this length and to be honest not sure if I will make it, but I know that this is more of a NEED than a want for me.
